Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are all deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Japan stemming from a
powerful earthquake. Miyagi province, where Sendai city is located, shouldered the
brunt of the ensuing tsunami and is currently battling to contain radiation leaks from
several nuclear power plants. The memories of a similar tsunami tragedy that struck
Phuket several years ago still linger and we can only hope that the human toll is
The TPAA Foundation has, therefore, established a Japan Earthquake Relief Fund
to accept donations which will then be distributed to the Japanese Red Cross or the
Tohoku University Hospital. Tohoku University is a member of the prestigious
National Seven Universities in Japan. The Tohoku University Hospital is the major
tertiary care center serving Sendai. Personal reports tell of health care workers
serving the community around the clock, some checking hundreds of dead bodies.
Please join me in helping the victims of this natural disaster. You can make your
cash or check donation to TPAA Foundation 2011, and mail to TPAAF 2011, c/o Pisit
